Sore calf

I went out this morning full of enthusiasm for W9R2 and after about 15 mins realised my left calf was hurting. Stopped for a wee stretch but still painful so opted to stop completely and walk home so that I don’t risk real damage.

Pretty disappointed at this, so close to the end and wonder if I just need a little extra rest after my Parkrun high on Saturday so will take it easy over the next couple of days and see how it goes.

Any of you good people out there got any advice for this kind of thing?

Well done for stopping..a good stretch and a massage..maybe with lotion or oil After your shower...then try some general calf exercise..e.g

Don't run with pain or until it feels back to normal ...having had a minor calf tear..it is not worth the risk. The run will wait. 😉

Thank you. That’s really helpful.

Yes, I really don’t want this turning into “something” so took the cautious approach and stopped. It’s not too bad but it’s taken me so long to find running I can’t have some pesky injury putting an end to it!
