This is my first post, but I've been slowly plugging away at the programme having previously been unable to run 2 mins without getting out of breath and feeling like death.
I was in week 7, about to go for my second run but with no phone! So I set my fitbit into "exercise mode" and just ran at a slightly easier than usual pace around my local area. I ended up running a full 5k in 32 minutes and enjoyed every second of it. I only stopped because my watch started buzzing that I'd hit 5k.
For my first week 8 run yesterday, I decided to do the same again and not just run for 28 minutes, I think I'll start my consolidation runs now and for the next two weeks just run 30x minutes as I'm feeling quite comfortable with it.
What's crazy is that before I did this, I always struggled towards the end of every session and thought "no way can I run any additional time next week". I think it goes to show how much of both a mental and physical game running actually is.
Anyway, my ambition at the start was to hit 5km in 30 mins by the end of the programme and for the first time in 2x months I'm feeling confident I can do it! I'll be doing a park run, either this week or next to test myself so fingers crossed.
C25k has been amazing for me, first exercise I've done in 4 years and I've lost a stone in weight! I've also been reading this forum from a far and have been inspired by everyone's updates and the challenges you're all overcoming - it very much kept me going!
Thank you everyone!
