Long run: up hill and down dale

Decided to run (more or less) straight from my front door this morning, instead of the back door. This meant I ran a substantial amount of pavement before getting to the hill. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I wouldn’t want to do it every day, or once a week come to that, but it’s good to know I can do it without doing myself any damage.

I really wanted to try to do the run as close to what the app wanted from me as possible even though it was a trail route and not flat either, so pushed myself to run to the required pace up the more gradual slopes, which is something I find quite hard, rather than just keep moving.

All in all I don’t think I did too badly and managed 8k in roughly 1hr 2mins instead of a few seconds short of the hour.

I wish you could smell the roses, they really do smell lovely (and don’t trigger my hay fever)

Thanks 😊

My own roses are suffering a bit this year - they’re in pots and I don’t think they’ve recovered after last year.

Hmm yes. I saw a garden of them in Yorkshire and spent my time smelling them!

Max speed 15.5 kmph? 😳That's Mo Farah quick. 😄

I'm doing a lot of road running at the moment, but i'm looking forward to some runs in the countryside with the pooch soon. 🐶

Hahahahaha that will have been down hill. 🤣

Runs in the countryside with pooch are my normal. As long as it isn’t too hot. 👍
