Distance 😬

Hi everybody, I start week 9 tomorrow but only run 2.5/3km in 28 minutes. 😬 So that mean I am running to slow😊My plan is to repeat week 9 trying to increase my speed until I will achieve 5K in 30 minutes ? Does anybody meet the same problem ?😀

I am nearly at your point and plan to do the same. I always knew I wouldn’t be running 5k by the end of the 9 weeks, but want to monitor my progress by running a set time. Well done and good luck!

Thank you Tracey, I’ll do that then. Well done to you too and good luck 😊

Don't worry about distance you're doing great . Think back to wk1 60 seconds of running you are now doing 28 minutes😚😊

It is NOT a problem not running a 5K in 30 minutes or for that matter 40 or 50 minutes, the course is designed for you to run for 30 minutes after 9 weeks but you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, so 9 weeks is only a rough guide. Repeat week 9 if you want to, but really once you have ran for 30 minutes 3 times, that third run is your graduation run irrispective on how long it took you.

Agree completed course couple years ago and got obsessed with time/distance to point my shins got really sore and I ended up stopping running altogether!

Got running shoes on yesterday for first time in 2 years I suggest not even monitoring distance covered just take your time and follow program.

The real achievement is getting out there and running 3 times a week doesn’t matter how far or fast!

How did it feel to get the running shoes back on?! Well done you. ☺

Totally agree, don't worry at all about distance until you have graduated and consolidated. It does not matter at all.

What they all said. Just do your 30 minutes running. Only 10 % ish do the 5k in 30 minutes upon graduating. I certainly didn't. I can now run 6k, but still can't do 5k in 30 minutes.

Just graduate and consolidate that 30 mins running and then work out where you want to go from there.

Thank you for all your advices and support 🙏 I will stop focusing on distance and keep going with 3 runs a week.
