The first milestone T-Shirt

My little Parkrun buddy joined me today for my 42nd Parkrun at my local Parkrun and he got to show off his new milestone 10 T-Shirt for the first time one week after his 10th Birthday. He had been waiting for it for about 3 months and is on about 20 Parkruns now. It was a lovely comfortable run, I came home in a time of 27:59 and my son was a good 30 seconds ahead of me. He always finishes strong with an 800 meter fast run to the finish line leaving me behind. It was so great seeing him in his milestone T-Shirt.

Congratulations to you and your son on a excellent sub 30 minute 5k time, it always amazies me seeing young 10 year olds or younger running a sub 30 minute 5k, I was spectator at a parkrun this morning when a 10 year old ran a sub 25 minute 5K.

Thank you. Our next goal is to go sub 26 mins. The second place finisher yesterday was a 14 year old boy. He was super fast. He finished in 20 minutes.

Nice shirt... my daughter is waiting to be invited to order hers, but they’re having technical issues at the moment so ordering is closed.

It’s always great to read about family running together, and it sounds like he’s gonna be pretty fast, especially as he can kick on through the last 800m.

Great times for you both too. Enjoy the next one.

Thanks so much. We have a little competition going now. His PB time is 26:32 and my PB is 26:15. So I have 17 seconds on him. But I think he will pass me again soon. It’s lovely running with him and he is getting well known now himself at our local Parkrun. I love to see him comfortably conversing with adults at the start line.

By the way it took about 3 months to receive the T-Shirt as there is a large backorder for them.
