Well, what can I say? I never thought I’d get this far, but I did!
As today was rather warm (and I needed an emergency power nap), we didn’t run until about 7pm. There was a lovely cool easterly breeze, which made the temperature more tolerable. Despite that, I felt sluggish and had developed a worrying pain in my left knee. Sod it, I thought, I am NOT going to fall at the last fence. So I ignored it and carried on. It took a while, but it eventually went away.
Jo took her time getting to five minutes and was slightly better getting to ten. Her performance did improve, as it wasn’t long before she announced fifteen, then all the subsequent five minute increments. I finally managed a sort of sprint for the last minute, then it was done! I was so excited I forgot to stop my Fitbit, which is very annoying. I realised about three minutes into the walk, so I have no reliable stats to say how far I ran and at what pace. 😡
My buddy and I walked to the pub, where the beer festival was in full swing. We bought our drinks and went to sit outside, probably much to the relief of fellow patrons, as I was wearing my favourite perfume, Eau de Sweaty Betty. I downed my pint of cider and ate my peanuts gratefully.
Monday sees the start of the next chapter in the book of running, as I will be a free agent. I will, however, be running for thirty minutes three times a week for three weeks, as recommended.
This programme is brilliant, and so are you lot. You have given me encouragement, tips, support and humour. Without you lot, it would have been so much more difficult and less fun. I wish I could meet you all in real life, and give you a thank you hug.
Wherever you are in your journey, good luck, and Trust The Programme! 😁

Great news Muddled, you're there 🥇🎉🎊🤗. just quick thought, how much of a motivation was it to be sprinting towards a lovely cold cider, cheers to you 🍻
Oh wow! Many congratulations... you should be rightfully proud of your achievement! Don't be a stranger and do keep us updated on your running journey. I didn't understand it at the time but running since graduation has been such an uplifting and life-affirming experience. I definitely need structure (if I ever lost my spreadsheet...!) but now I decide what that structure looks like and it's really liberating. Good luck!
Congratulations! What an achievement and a well deserved refreshment afterwards. You must feel amazing. Just got w7r2 completed this morning, and still can't imagine getting to w9r3. Here's to a future full of runming for you!

Well done you graduate you! Savour the feeling! Am sure there’s a gap in the market for Eau de Sweaty Betty 🤣. A few of us seem to favour it! All the best with the next chapter in your running adventures!
Well done on graduating , I also graduated yesterday, dripping with sweat and also didn’t turn by Fitbit off, but who cares we did it. Love your posts. Well done 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
