Every c25k journey should begin with FAQ Posts

Hey everyone, especially newbies, I wanted to share how I used the “FAQ POSTS” for my c25k journey.

These posts gave me all the preparation I needed. I printed them off at the start of the programme and referred to them several times over and over the course of the 9 weeks, kept them on the coffee table for easy access!

My journey wasn’t all smooth sailing, I had a clicky knee in the early weeks, then in the latter weeks I had leg fatigue, dehydration and numbness - but I was grateful to have warded off any major issues related to knees, ankles and shins I so often hear about from other runners on c25k.

Do yourself a favour, read all the FAQ posts, there are some 10+ FAQ posts ... make a point to know them inside out! This is really the best thing you can do for yourself to be successful.

Most newbies receive a message with a link to the FAQ posts, or you can view them under the Pinned Posts section.

All the best!

I agree, I found the forum late (in week 7) and I really wish I'd had some of the info before. Some very useful stuff in there.

People often forget to check the link in the welcome message.

I didn't get the welcome message until week 7 lol, I did read them then, then again every once in a while when I forget something

Yes, very wise. Wish I had known about this forum when I started the course.

I still read them during my consolidation runs, I don’t want to get ahead of myself 😂

Not literally during the runs, I hope...

Now there's an idea! A set of podcasts with someone reading the FAQs out merged with the actual programme. For those of us who can't stand music while running....

I’d happily offer to do the voice over!

Oh yes..yes yes... We are working on new ways to get this message over, as you know... at least it is a permanent pinned post now... ! If I had a penny.. ?? 1p for every time I direct folk to it I would be a multi millionaire!!!

But.. I would if I was a gambler. bet that nearly all your replies will be from Graduates!

Don’t know if you admins can influence the app or the links that go to folks who download it.... But I know on the app there is a repeated message about One You being a site to find health info. Fine, but I don’t think there’s a direct reference to Health Unlocked or the C25k forum. Yet this is THE most helpful link. 👏🏼

I found the forum because I have time & curiosity, but even so I didn’t realise the huge benefit of a “here I am” post which elicits all those wonderful Welcome Posts.

You folks do a great job. 👍🎉 But a million different signposts seem to be needed....

You have a point..we have worked with HU for a long time to get things improved and our FAQ pinned post is all we can get! Everything we do is a battle..we are trying to get it higher profile but,my goodness it is hard to do!

We have little influence at all..and all the little milestones we do get to are reached after much work.

Great advice, JJ! I never thought to print them all out, but it's such a good idea to keep it all handy like that.

Thanks jaojao. I’ve just started reading the FAQ’s online and was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find them again! Not sure why I didn’t think to print them lol 😂🙈
