Nothing to report running-wise (if a nice relaxed 5k along the sea front counts as nothing), but I wanted to share a thought I had yesterday in the hope it provides encouragement...
When I came to Llandudno in the autumn, my knees were so bad that I wondered how long I could continue walking the hills. Yesterday I was up and down and all over the Great Orme... chose the steepest, most hair-raising paths I could. No need for walking poles now I have bionic legs. I could almost cry with gratitude!
Couldn't do that without C25k and all the associated benefits it has brought me.
Ps - that photo doesn't really do justice to how steep that path was (but the camera was level).

Yikes! I haven’t been brave enough to tackle any of our Sheffield hills yet, plus I don’t have any road running shoes so I guess I’ll stick to my trail for now 😂. Well done, that’s a scary slope!
Running does truly make you stronger, eh?! Well done on a very challenging walk! I was in Cornwall last week, and having a "re-set" week from running (i.e. no running). Did lots of walking though, including a very challenging section of the Southwest Coastal Path (it was breathtakingly beautiful!) Lots of very steep, long uphill climbs, and torturous downhill scrambles, and bits of what can only be described as bouldering! Ha ha! But you know, my legs coped brilliantly with the long uphill climbs. I am not sure this would have been the case if I had not been running regularly for 2 years! Quads of steel, me! LOL!
Running is great as it makes walking even easier and more pleasurable, doesn't it? 😀
Agreed - running definitely is definitely great for leg strength and also for joint stability it seems.
😅 phew! Pianism - how fantastic that you can feel and enjoy the difference a few months of running makes. I fully expect that by this autumn you will send a similar photo to say you ran it!! Enjoy your travels 😊
Once again, great reward for powering through those dark days of January. 😄 Love hill walking, tho’ western fells of the Lake District is my favourite. Some steepish bits there you can practise on....
