Week 3 run 2 done
I'm not too sure that easier is the right word just that your body gets more used to it. Just go slow, you can do this ๐
It does get easier but for a while it will be hard because every time you are asking your body to do more! In the early stages I never really enjoyed the running but I did like the having run. That sense of amazement at what you can do keeps you going as you get fitter. Keep going. You are doing fantastically well by being out there. You've got this!
If you stick to the program it will help you build up your stamina. I find some days are harder than others depending on the way I'm feeling but steady is the key (I think) . Good luck with the rest of the program โ
Hi BB, If it was easy everyone could do it! As it is itโs just the gutsy, determined folk who get out there and push through the difficulties to achieve their aims. Folks like you who are going to be healthier and slimmer. Donโt believe me? Read back through your posts. You havenโt found any run or any week EASY! Didnโt stop you though did it! You pressed on to here. Still taking on bigger challenges each week. AND COMPLETING THEM !๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
I do hope that you measured yourself when you started. Calves, thighs, biceps, as well as the usual bits. That way when it turns to heavier muscle, you can measure the improvement in inches or cms, even if the scales show no change. This is not a weight loss program, but if you look after your diet as well, I count calories, there is no reason why you should not lose weight during this course. I finished Week 9 recently and am 6 kilos lighter than 6 months ago. Thatโs like a big bag of potatoes I no longer lug around. Being lighter, in turn, makes my running easier.
Perhaps running then does get easier? I hope it does for you too.
PS. It was about week 6 that I felt good enough to get a bright red running jacket! Just to say. Look at me! Chunky chap, but I run!
It definitely gets easier... or you get more used to it. Not sure which.
I have to say, I ached all over for my first few weeks as my muscles got used to it. Nowhere near the same level of aching now! But also, you get used to a degree of aching and learn what to do to resolve it (stretching and walking is MUCH better than rest and hot baths. Who knew??).
You've got this! You belong here and we are so very proud of you.
