Disaster strikes my C25K 😱

For some unknown reason I have done some serious damage to my ankle, all was going well I completed the first run of week 4. We went for a lovely walk around Fountains Abbey for a few hours then went for my 2nd run wk 4 great run except my ankle which I think was niggling me a little decided to refuse any more action it swelled just below the ankle bone on the inside of my foot and has stayed like that for nearly 2 weeks now! Today it’s finally getting better, tbh I’ve been like a bear with a sore head I’m annoyed I can’t run but it’s made me grumpy not being able to get around as normal. This is amazing as only 5 weeks ago I was a couch potato and now I hate it. Does anyone know why this happened, I didn’t cockle or anything, also how long will I have to stop for? Thanks xx

Have you been to the the doctor if not I think you should. Also no running until your ankle is 100% better good luck 😊

No I was thinking of going to a sports injury physiotherapist, it seems to trivial to trouble my GP about when people are actually poorly and can’t get appointments at our surgery. I thought that it was probably the case I’d have to wait till it’s fully better or it might do more damage I suppose it was wishful thinking that if I run again it would get better quicker 😜 thanks for the advice much appreciated 🙂

Sports physio, definitely. They will be able to identify the problem, and will sort it for you with treatment and exercises.

Go to a doctor / therapist. 2 weeks is a long time for it to stay swollen for no reason.

It may be nothing or something easily cured with rest but it's better to know, right ?
