Not at all, I read someone else was 84 on here.

Take it slow and steady and if you're concerned get your doctor's ok to start exercising.

Well, you’re older than I am but not by a lot. Give it a try and see? Google the YouTube video on Japanese slow running technique. It’s useful to see low impact running technique in action. It’s certainly worked for me.

Good luck, and welcome to the Plan. 😊👍

There’s an overweight, out of condition 74 year old here, heavier than you, just graduated in May. He has lost a bit of weight, tightened his tum and feels a great deal better for having run for 30 minutes several times now. As Granspeed says watch the YT man. I match his hair colour and matched his speed too. All the way to 5K. Came to enjoy running too. Never expected that.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your running SLOWLY!

Echo what everyone else has said - age is just a number after all. It might be sensible to run it past your GP, especially if you have any health issues but take it slow and steady, respect the rest days in between runs and you'll be doing something great for your overall health and fitness. Make sure you drink plenty of water every day because being well hydrated really helps. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

You’re young enough to ask, to me that means you’re young enough to have a go. Like anyone around is going to say, go slow, stay safe and enjoy. Glad to have you around. All the best!

Made my first attempt today, I was surprised that it was easier than I thought it would be.
