Did run 2 of week 1 today and enjoyed it again! Has anyone lost weight from doing this?

Great and glad you're enjoying c25k. Losing weight is possible as is body shape change. Maybe not until you are doing the longer runs 3 times per week and be mindful of what you're eating 😊

3 stones since starting at the turn of the year... though not exclusively from running (I changed my diet and do an awful lot more walking now too).

Congrats on the second run - keep going out 3 times a week and you'll soon be seeing some changes, I'm sure. :)

I’ve lost over 2 stone but with diet changes also , keeps my head right and I’m more focused on eating healthy , toning now too which is great doing about 20 km per week , seems a lot but I plodded for those first weeks so it’s not out of your reach keep going , make the time for yourself , I usually go early morning which has stopped the evening glass of wine , rarely touch a drop now

I've lost nearly 2 stone and am on week 6 (nearly 7) but with diet changes that started just before then (slimming world). Losing about 2-3lb a week now which is the best way to do it but I had some big losses to begin with as a/ I was fat and b/ it was such a big change from lazing about eating rubbish food. It is totally worth it, I've honestly not felt this happy in years and whilst eating better helps, I would largely place this programme as the main reason. Seeing your achievements each week is awesome!

Well done with your progress😊, I've lost 2-3lbs each week, counting calories too...but I think your shape changes alot.

I have a stubborn 10lbs left to shift and am hoping more regular exercise that gets my heart rate going will help but despite watching carefully what I eat, I am yet to see any major weight loss since I started “running”. Discouraged I read up on it and apparently that’s not uncommon- the main thing is to keep at it and enjoy the other benefits until the weight loss kicks in - the mental benefits, toning, shape change, improved fitness....Happy running!

As above, toned up and changed shape, much leaner looking apparently!! Weight is not the way to think as muscle weighs more and I have definitely got more leg muscle!

If you are concerned like that. I suggest that you take a bathroom mirror “before” pic as you are still in week 1. Measure yourself carefully. Biceps, thighs, calves as well as the usual bits.

By week 4, I thought my trousers were less tight. Week 6 a couple of kilos less, so I started counting calories too. I was chubby to start with though and as the others say, your shape may change later as well as the weight.

Enjoy the gentle journey to fitness and health, whatever it does to you.
