After waking up several times worrying and excited during the night but mostly due to the ridiculous amount of water I drank yesterday, I AM A GRADUATE.
I started this program as my anxiety had taken hold. I no longer felt in control and I was so alone.
12 weeks ago, my first run was after dark, as I didnβt want to be seen. It was only 2 degrees and I couldnβt imagine keeping going. This morning I ran along the canal and happily greeted passing runners and dog walkers! I feel more in control of my anxiety and my confidence is rocketing.
I owe so many thanks to this community for all the support and encouragement. I really couldnβt have done it without you and I no longer feel so alone but wish I could take you all out for a pint!
I might not be breaking any land speed records but I couldnβt be more proud of myself! I know that my pace has improved, so you never know, I might make it to 5km π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’
I didnβt plan to finished today but today is my birthday. This feels like such a fitting way to celebrate another year. How times have changed!
Well done to everyone pushing them selfβs with this program and to anyone thinking of starting out, if I can, anyone can! Go for it.
I have so many question,
How is this app possible? What happens now? And most importantly, can I keep Micheal?

Yay, woohoo , well done and happy birthday πββοΈπΎππππ. Lots of options now. Consolidate then Ju-Juβs Bridge to 10km plan. C25k+ podcasts which help with speed and stamina. Runkeeper or Strava to record your time and distance and listen to Ted Talks or music as you run, intervals, fartleks... the world is your oyster π
This is awesome! CONGRATULATIONS! and Happy Birthday! πΎππππ So happy for you Em! π It was an absolute privilege to follow your journey on here.
Well you can keep MJ for a few weeks until you get used to running for 30 minutes, and then you can do whatever you want! Parkrun, maybe increase your distance... But you must let us know what's happening and share your wisdom/experience with the newbies on here! Keep running! WHOO HOO!
Congratulations, what a lovely birthday present to yourself Emlist29, a very happy birthday to you.
To get your graduation π badge and the word GRADUATE π next to your username leave a message on the May graduate post in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated π π.
What happens now you ask?, over the next few weeks run around 6/30 minutes consolidation runs or as many as you feel comfortable with. You can go on to the Stepping stones podcasts with Laura, not sure if Michael does them, if he does they consist of several podcasts to quicken your pace up, they are for graduates of C25K. π π π
Happy birthday π₯³ congratulations on that and your amazing achievement of graduating. Isnt it a great confidence builder? Running definitely helps just as much with mental well being as physical I find. You can keep Michael for a few weeks while you consolidate your 30β runs but you might have to leave him for those that really need him... NRC app is filling the gap for me now.
A double celebration of your birthday π and graduation π. Very well done for sticking at this through thick and thin. Youβve written an inspirational post for all of us who are following behind you (Iβm nearly there!). Itβs been great to follow your journey. Well done Em. Go celebrate! π
Woohoo and well done, Emlist29 - fantastic stuff! And a very happy birthday to you as well! What a great way to celebrate and hopefully you can enjoy a pint or two tonight. π» Or maybe π₯ is in order?! Either way, enjoy your evening and congratulations π π π on your graduation π!
Happy beautiful lovely lady! Congratulations on your graduation. What a boost in so many ways, I hope you keep this confidence and energy with you now, donβt stop running, you must consolidate for 3 weeks now. Keep replaying that last run and you get to keep Michael.
Did you plan to graduate around your birthday or did it just happen that way?
I am turning 40 this Saturday and I will graduate on the Wednesday after (5th June) which apparent happens to be Global running day! Was not planned, just happens that way π
I started back at the start of March and had to add extra rest days early on so the program has taken me 12 weeks. Week 9 just happened to fall on my birthday week and I thought why not!
Happy birthday for Saturday, what a lovely present to yourself. x
Happy Birthday, congratulations on graduation and also the benefits youβre feeling physically and mentally. Well done beating the fear of being seen too, now you are inspiring others.
The app is cleverly devised and to both push you enough to get the fitness rising rapidly while not over stretching youβre abilities in any given run... but the result of 0-30 minutes in a couple of months is pretty magical. Of course, itβs a written plan, it can either work or not, the biggest factor in your success is your determination and commitment.
Next? Right now itβs consolidation thats advised, so MJ can stay for now. Consolidation is advised every few months of your running life to give the body a break from relentless progression. So you have a little time to think about where youβd like to take this new ability of yours.
Of course, before all that you have to celebrate your birthday some more and all your victories on the journey to graduation. Enjoy all your future running adventures
WOW!!! πππππππ you DID IT. You absolute hero π. Youβre a great role model and your posts have really encouraged me. Enjoy your celebrations and happy birthday
Congratulations and Happy Birthday as well. πππΌπππΌββοΈπ¨ Fantastic progress for you, both physically and mentally. Hereβs to many happy runs in the future! πΆπ΅πΆππΌ
Happy birthday Emlist29 and congratulations on your graduation! Fantastic achievement and you must quite rightly feel really proud of how far youβve come!Unfortunately I need Michael at the moment so you canβt keep him - but Iβm happy to shareπ
Iβm interested to explore different podcasts and will explore the suggestions.
I think Iβll stick to my 30 mins for the foreseeable future as i struggle around the 20minute mark so want to get past that but donβt want to push my limits too far. x
