Mid challenge cruise

I am only on wk 1 and will be going on a cruise week 6 so I am planning on visiting the gym 3 times whilst I’m away and running on the treadmill. Is this still ok? I plan to be walking about 20000 steps each day I’m on shore due to sightseeing but I think this is still ok as I’m not running or brisk walking?

Treadmill is fine. Exercise on rest days is good as long as it's non impact. Depends on what ports your visiting but there's always the option of a run on shore.

I’m going on a cruise in the summer and I know from previous cruises that there’s an option to run on one of the decks. In the past I would have watched the runners from the comfort of a chair but itching to join them this time 😄

I’m going to check if there’s a running deck 👍🏻

Me too. I'm also plan to do at least one run off the ship and somewhere new!

No running deck 😨 but at least I’ll have a treadmill with a view! 😜🌞

Most of the cruises I’ve heard about have a running track on one of the decks - that might be fun, but treadmill is equally as acceptable. The advantage of running in the deck while the ship is moving, is that you can record your gps track on your phone or other gadget, and it will look like a funky spiral pattern on the map when you’re done.

20,000 steps is quite a high step goal.

20000 is not my step goal...it’s just that I walk so fast to see everything that’s what I clock up on shore...I’ve got FOMO...fear of missing out 😂 I’ll gladly walk less but there’s so much to see...😜

That sounds like a plan 🙂 if you are not already doing 20k steps a day then make sure you are kind to yourself if you don't feel like running on holiday. You won't lose any running fitness. 👍
