Definitely get cycle shorts, I used to do spinning and they were the only thing that saved my backside from having severe bike-bum-itus (I'm sure that's the right medical term!)
As far as which ones to get, I tried a few on, some of the padding feels too much and some not enough, some too wide and some doesn't cover enough, I think it's more a feeling.
As far as wear and tear, my spinning days were a long while ago, so you'll have to look up the good brands now
Lol. Never learned to ride a bike then? No boney bum huh? That’s no help 😂 my doesn’t look like it’s boney lol. Good to hear from you though. Made my smile 👍
Gah. No one has time for chafing! It’s the same with running gear in my opinion! I’ve used “glide” before. Works quite well. I’m always confused with saddles as they say either for men or women?! Do we all have different bottoms ?!🤷🏻♂️
Very much so and even fellas have differing sizes of how far apart the 'sit bones' are. Some shops can fit you, they make you sit on a special saddle that measures you! 🤣 I use the Alturas myself and in winter sometimes cheat and put padded leggings over too. Mega comfy!
Naw, unless you're aiming to do hundreds of miles a week just stick with shorts. Gel padding is noticeably better than foam and lasts better. Cheap foam ones can go flat far too quick!
