Warm enough for shorts!

Well a good three runs this week. Two in shorts!

It has even been as warm as summer 2012 mornings (not that that's saying much) so it was nice to be back in shorts rather than tracksters / trackies.

Slowly trying to build up for a couple of 10Ks in April and May, I am definately injury prone so have to build very slowly. So 6Ks for a couple of weeks, before moving on to 6.5K.

I must stick to no more than 10% increases and listen to my body!!!

Enjoy your runs :-)

I'm guessing that you don't live in the UKI

I do, I live in Lytham St Annes, which is about 5 miles from Blackpool, it has been slightly warmer this week.

Shorts eh?! :) Actually, I can believe it as it was mild this morning when I went out too.....

Good to see you are building it up gradually Phil and it looks like a good way to get to that 10K goal. Cant wait to just run for 6K or more non-stop but it will take time and patience I know! :D

We'll get there and all be doing 10k later in the year, fingers crossed we get there without injury :-)

Not sure about shorts, but it's rare for me to get my legs out, though I have ran in a vest top for the last few nights :)

I'm ok with shorts, but I definitely couldn't wear a vest top, not with my man boobs :-)

Wow shorts, you're brave!! It does seem fairly mild for this time of year though. Good luck with the running, hopefully you can stay injury free.

It's been 10 degrees here, I'm sure winter will return with a vengeance :-(

I was back to wearing a vest this week, actually find I prefer colder weather for running as I tend to overheat quicky. Best of luck with those 10ks Phil, very wise to build up slowly as you've got lots of time. :-)

I prefer it cooler also, but don't like the wind.

Welcome back Phil! Wise words regarding slow build up to 10K. I'm dillydallying as to whether to give 10K a go, but hae decided to wait another month before starting, and when I do, i reckon I'll take it very, very slowly. Suffering from back ache after lifting heavy turkey out of the oven (true!) and I'm fine while I'm running, but not so fine during normal activities.

Yes, it is warm isn't it, 13/14 degrees here in northern Italy a touch of Spring before winter really digs in! Take care, Delia x

10 degrees here Delia. I understand the back issue, I have an issue with my right leg that is linked to my back, fine when running but I know about it in the mornings when it aches. Take care :-)

Well that was warm enough!

So, I avoided running in the bitter east winds we've had, and couldn't put off the run any longer....
