Hi guys, I’ve just done day one of the app and my feet feel like jelly already! What is this strange feeling? I’ve never run before so it was a new and strange experience but I don’t think it’s for me. What’s the best way to quit? Bob
Time to throw in the towel: Hi guys, I’ve just... - Couch to 5K
Time to throw in the towel
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started
There is no way to quit once you start on this journey to improve your health, reduce your risk of many life-limiting conditions, become happier and more confident than you have ever been before..............unless you have incredibly poor decision making abilities.
This guide to the plan is essential reading. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
The strange feeling in your feet may well be caused by restricted blood flow created by overtight shoes.
Don't throw away this opportunity to change your life for the better......
........enjoy your journey.
Hi Truffle, thanks for your support. Is it better to run in blue coloured jeans or white jeans? My trainer told me white reflects sunlight better so you stay cooler? Can you please advise?
Well, I ran in red skinny jeans the other night, but long green knitted skirt or denim pinafore have worked for me too. However, no-one serious actually recommends running in jeans unless that's all the lower half clothing you possess (and even then you are probably better just running in your knickers if keeping cool enough is an issue)
IannodaTruffe is a often sweetie and also a rare delicacy but he's no truffle.
Did you want to do this? If so, it is for you and you can do it (even if you are not sure you can)
Did you think you 'should' do it or someone told you to do it in some shame-y sort of a way? Maybe it isn't for you.... yet? Or maybe it is for you but not for the reasons you thought.
Do read the FAQ pinned post to the right. Long but worth it.
If you maintained a walking motion during the walking sections and a running motion during the running sections (even if the running motion was slower than your walking motion), you are well ahead of many others who were not so lucky the first time out but who kept a firm hold on their towel and made running work for them long term.
Bobby - the answer is simple. Don’t throw in the towel. The wobbly legs are a sign that it’s time to get yourself healthy. I felt similar and have had towel throwing temptations along the way. I’m now at Week 7! Discipline. Get some! And check in here for great moral support and encouragement. You CAN do it.
You cannot quit..you're here now...sorry, but ignore your trainer ...us..the post for Newbies and you are all that's needed.
Welcome to Hotel Calfornia...
Sorry...welcome to probably the best thing ever!
Is this a joke??
So your feet like jelly, welcome to the first day of the rest of your life!
Read the FAQ posts, digest it, ponder on it and then get out there and get yourself fit! You will thank us when you reach the end.
The end seems really far, how do you stay motivated for so many weeks?
One run at a time. One run segment at a time.
These people keep you motivated. This forum is the best. I’ve just started week 4, and I never thought I’d get this far!
What shortcuts are there? Tell me now muddler
Bahahaha! There aren’t any! 😁
You on roids my brother? No one else will know
Bahahaha! I’m a 58 year old lady! Not on roids or anything else suspect! 😁
My apologies my lady. Keep up the good work, you look great 😉
🤣🤣🤣 You can do it too! 👍💪
How do i convince my girlfriend to give me daily massages to remove lactic acid? She needs to get on my team otherwise i won’t make it too week 2. Her fault if I fail x
I have a great playlist which makes the runs so enjoyable.
I take each run at a time, I don’t look ahead, I savour each run.
I read all the faq advice posts and ensure I follow the advice so I reduce injury and carry on enjoying it.
I rely on this forum to pick me up when I’m down, to share in my run successes and bounce off each other.
I’ve come so far now, week 7... I’m not turning my back on it now, I’m going to the very end and beyond that I’m going to run run run all summer long! I’ve already signed up for a run at your pace 25mile race next month!
My addiction to the c25k app and this forum is what keeps me going, it’s a little achievement for myself, pure selfishness!
And lastly I turn 40 next month and I don’t want to be that girl that says no to cake 😁😁😁
Day 1 is the worst but stay with it ..I hated day 1 of week 1 last week but stuck with it and today was day 1 of week 2 for me and I enjoyed it and I’m no spring chicken either ! Don’t give up just yet Bobby !!
