Graduated a couple of weeks ago did some consolidation runs to keep going and attempted my park run (first one) in three years on Saturday I did it in just under 42 minutes and would like to build now on stamina and speed. Downloaded and was listening to Laura with the stamina advice just getting over buthave some way to go with running in public and overcoming self consciousness I want to be able to do this a little more with ease if that makes sense though I know I still need to carry on loosing weight .

Hi , well done on your graduation and your park run! I have graduated about the same time as you I think and have been doing consolidation runs but not got the confidence to join a park run yet.

I am very self conscious too when running and I hope this improves but actually, you are getting out there and doing it and so should be very very proud of yourself.

Keep on running 🏃‍♀️!

Thankyou yes it was an internal battle today like the voice that says I can’t do it or I just stop and go again I thought right I’ll run a little on the road today glad I did because I care less now what all these motorists think as time goes on and well done to you I feel like I really need to make this real and believable I am going to push on Laura s podcast on stamina post grad is excellent today keep going and also be very proud you are doing this it is better than the couch ..

I hear you on the self-consciousness, but who should be more self-conscious, those that can complete a park run or those that stand around judging those that can?

Like that ! Thankyou it’s almost a thing that stems from childhood and as time goes on I am hoping voices eventually get drowned out by the Positive Feelings we get. I will remember this it’s good advice .,

Someone wise once told me "consider the source" when getting upset over other people's remarks - anyone worth their salt will be cheering you on and possibly wishing they could do it too. Are the people judging people that you respect? Cos they are the only people you should be worried about - the others? who gives a ....
