C25K completed for the second time in a year: what next?

Carried On running after completing the programme Last summer, but it wasn’t the same without Jo, and I ground to a halt in December. Have just completed again and am looking for inspiration for next phase. My local Parkrun feels too competitive (it’s dispiriting coming in after most have gone home), and 10K seems too far. Ideas welcome, but it’s a good feeling to be where I am again . Good luck to everyone on their way.

Don’t know if you’re on Strava ? They offer a range of interesting virtual challenges every month, and you don’t need more than the free version to take part.

Thanks ButtercupKid, I’ll have a look. I do use Strava.

I do the distance and uphill challenges each month - nowhere near achieving them yet, but my total creeps up each time 😄

Read the blog post posted by Truffle.

You’re doing Park Run for yourself, not for other people, maybe give it a chance?

Did you do the consolidated runs after you graduated? They become available in the app after the W9R3 run.

You always reset the mobile app data and stick with Jo, just replay W9R3.

It’s a bit like a wedding isn’t it, the build up to W9R3 and then when it’s over, what now? Maybe the mobile app needs to do more for post c25k runners to keep up those 30 minute runs but don’t necessarily want to move onto 10k or marathons!

Thanks JaoJao. I’ve tried Parkrun a few times and I think it has a different character in different places. The most fun was Johannesburg (lucky me, I know), which was full of dog walkers and a lovely atmosphere. I might try my local one again once I feel more robust! No, I didn’t realise there were consolidating runs in the app: thanks v much for that tip. Best, Tallis
