I’m scared week 5 run 3 planned for Friday 🥴

Found wk5 run2 a struggle towards the end! So starting to worry about run3!! My heads already said you can’t run 20mins without stopping. Any tips?

Trust the programme! It works. If you have to slow down that’s fine too. And I put together a playlist of slow songs I hadn’t heard in awhile to distract me. But actually it was fine and actually it is a great run! Nothing to be scared of, if you’ve completed the other runs you’ll be fine, if it starts to feel tough, just slow down some more!!

Thank you for the tips 👌🏼Why slow songs? I always think loud and clubbing songs is what I should play!

The music you run to is your choice, not anyone else's, if you are not sure what to listen to, you can go to the likes of Spotify and choose the best music you want for running, tips, Jancanrun's playlists are good.

I was exactly the same and did run 3 today. It was actually fine, it just happened, I didn't struggle it was all good without a problem. I felt so proud after it. Trust the scheme and give it a go - you can do it!

Hi Seashells.

For a bit of inspiration take a quick look through the posts about week 5 (the one right after you is a good example).

Most of us feel this way before our first 'long run'. I know I did and I'm sure you'll do it.

At this point it's more about believing you can do it than the actual running. Have faith.....and trust your - trainer they know their stuff. 😀

Your head may be scared... your body will appreciate the shorter workout though.

Brisk walking and conversational pace running are almost the same... and you last did more than 20 minutes in total.

Trust the plan, believe in yourself, set off nice and slowly and settle into a happy rhythm... you can do it!

Please don’t be scared, it’s simply the next right step. Following on from discorunner suggesting playlist compilation, I always compile a new list for each next stage of progress. Kind of makes me feel prepared! Happy running, you can do it, enjoy!
