I feel like a grown up

Did my first post grad run today, a full 5k and apparently a bit quicker pace than Wednesdays graduation run. It seemed a bit odd having no Sarah Milligan, no cues and no halfway bell a bit like passing your driving test and going out wherever you want, however you want unaccompanied.

I managed to complete, on schedule, 9 weeks. For anyone starting out, can I suggest avoid fast beat music, find something relaxing that will keep your pace down, it's about completion not speed, you have the rest of your life to work on speed, the C25k is about getting out for 30 minutes, not speed.

It's been a very enjoyable couple of months, and I've lost a few pound's as well. What's not to like?

Did you miss having the voice over and the timings etc or did it feel good to be going solo?

Both, it nice to have tbe coaching, but as the title says, nice to be in control. I was quite happy because it was all familiar routes and I gad decided my halfway before I set off. It is now about intention rather than someone elses timing

To be fair, whilst I hadn't run for nearly 30 years, I eas diagnosed type 2 last year, so I have been hacking it about on a bike, upto 36 miles and lost 4 stone, so probably had a reasonable cardio vascular fitness from the off. I have seldom been out of breathe throughout, hurting and tired, just not out of breathe, and the type 2 is in remission:)

That's fantastic on the diabetes! 👍 What a success all round

Have you read the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet by Dr Michael Moseley? It has had some awesome results in reversing Type 2 diabetes with some people, especially if only diagnosed within last 10 years. If you haven't heard of it, it's worth a look.

A kind though, but I have already put it into remission, so not actually diabetic any more. Low carb, heavy on fruit and veg and lots of excercise. Ultimately it all about getting rid of the fat clogging your organs.

That's pretty much what the book says! Good on you for getting on top of it.
