Just finished week 1 , demoralised to say the least as not able to achieve the goal st end of week due to massive attack of acid reflux , start again next week maybe a bit slower this time as my thigh muscles and bum are really stiff. 56 years old feeling like 156 but I’m not going to be defeated.

Well done for getting started, don’t give up, I had this too but it passed - make sure you are not eating too close to your run.

Hi Nicky. Please don't give up on it. I am 43 and week 1 was a shock to my system also! Today I have finished run 3 of week 9.. the final run! I was just like you in the beginning. I struggled so much. I just took my time. Try again next week with week 1 and if it gets easier move on top week 2 the next week. The trick I found was to not push myself too hard. Slow it down a bit. Concentrate on your breathing. Try to slow it down. If thou get to the end of week 1 and don't feel ready for week 2 then just do 1 again until u feel ready. It's not a race. It's about building confidence, stamina and self belief. Good luck xx

Slowing it down is the way to do this. Slow running builds the right muscles for distance running... and allows the fitness to soar. There’s no too slow, but there is a too fast!

Keep up the post run stretches and look at strength and flex for rest days.

Don’t be demoralised... how much running did you do the week before??? If you keep coming to the start line, you will succeed.

Rome was not built in a day. Don't worry about not achieving your goal. Goals can be changed and adapted.. So just take is slow and build up from there. You will get there each and every day you try. Good luck.
