Well I did it. I shocked myself in two ways today.
1) I’m not a morning person but I set my alarm for 6am and I actually got up, and
2) I went for my 2nd run of the week before work. It wasn’t even as bad as I expected… after being stiff as a board yesterday & thinking I’d never be able to do the 30 mins I was pleasantly surprised.
I think it helped that it was cooler today than Monday, I knew what to expect and I’d sorted out my playlist so that was a welcome distraction. Still not convinced I’ll ever class myself as a ‘runner’ but who knows. Stranger things have happened 🤪
Thank you - I’ll give that a go. I did find it eased as the day went on & as I moved around but I didn’t think of going for an actual walk 🤣 my lazy gene is still the dominant one!
Well done... and already you are improving... it was a little easier, that’s great. Keep shocking yourself... one day you’ll see how awesome you really are. You’ll run 30 minutes and maybe one day beyond... you’ll be a runner... you’ll reap the health benefits and you’ll be fit enough to have a go at anything.
Enjoy closing out week one, that’s the toughest one.
I find the early run sets me up for the day , and the brighter mornings are great I started in the winter time !!!! So like to get out early as the heat is really hard on me .... I did 5.5 km this morning and I’ll go out Friday before work and maybe a parkrun Saturday
