I just wrote a lovely post and the app ate it 🧐 So now you’re getting bullet points
I have set up my new running watch - it’s a preloved Garmin FR25 - & I am In Love with it already 🧡
I keep having to postpone the 12 minute ‘balls out’ (who described it like this to me the other day???) test run that my training plan requires, for legitimate reasons, this doesn’t stop me feeling frustrated about it though.
Today’s run was done with the dogs in harness and was almost as much walk as run, because I simply didn’t have time to anything else.
It’s lucky they were attached to me as, on our way back, there were cows between us and the car!

I had the equivalent of your test run today... 7 minutes slow... 3 minutes of max effort and then 5 slow... first time I’ve done this benchmarking thing without wanting to die at the end of the 3 minutes.... that’s progress 😂
Well done getting out there and testing that watch out.
3 minutes of Max effort sounds so much more achievable. I think MyAsics used to ask me for something similar. 12 minutes has me trying to figure out a pace that I think I can maintain
Well, 3 minutes of max run effort... 3 minutes of sprint would be impossible... so yeah, you’re right it’s about knowing what max effort is over 12 minutes. It’s a learning curve though... and I never did a 12 minute run! All may be revealed when you run it... Nike’s version had guidance during the warmup, they wanted fast, faster, fastest or straight up max throughout rather than an actual sprint finish. For a 12 I’d look at running my tempo run pace first time round.
