This is the activity I’ve done today according to Pacer. Three months ago when I started Couch to 5k I would’ve been struggling to do even half that and would never EVER have considered doing today’s normal activity plus a run as well. Today I didn’t think twice about it! Yes, my feet ache now n I don’t really want to walk any more than I have to for the rest of the day but I am astounded that I’ve done almost 7 n a half miles, and some of the walking I did was instead of catching the bus! I’ve just been debating with my daughter when I last did that kind of distance n we reckon she was about 5 (she started her GCSE exams today). And I’m only covering just over 3k on my runs including the walking bits so I’m hardly setting any 5k records 😂
So for anyone on here wondering if Couch to 5k works, my answer is a resounding ‘Hell yes!!’

Amazing Jill ! Isn’t it just great seeing what you have achieved and progressed throughout the months. Your going to sleep like a baby tonight (if your not already asleep) 😴😂
Thanks! The bus wasn’t due for 9 minutes n I figured I could walk there quicker, it was only a couple of stops but I’d already done almost 17,000 steps then. 3 months ago I would’ve waited for the bus 😂
Fantastic! I love seeing when this programme sticks with someone and changes their life.
My pub-mates were round the other day boasting that they'd done nearly 7000 steps that day... I pulled my sleeve over my step tracker that was at 24k for the day and counting!
Good for you for not gloating! It honestly has changed my life, not just in my fitness levels but also in me as a person. My mood is better, my anxiety has almost disappeared, my attitude to food is changing and the way I look at challenges and goals has changed too. My belief in myself and what I’m capable of is much better than it used to be and life in general is just more joyful now. Plus it’s brought so many amazing people into my life through this amazing group 😃
Just back from my morning run week7 run 2. I too am amazed at how many more steps I do in a day. I’m carrying the excess baggage and I’m 66. I m starting to think more carefully about what I eat. I like the idea of the car having a rest day as well as me. Well done you!
