Well I’m a 14 stone 10lbs 43 year old lady and I’ve completes week 1, I feel super proud as I’ve been extremely lazy over the last few (10 🤣) years. I did find it easier than I thought but I do ache, I’m doing my C25K on a treadmill, is anyone else doing this and what speed (mph) are you walking and running at? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which explains the recommended easy conversational pace, which is different for every runner. Don't compare.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done on completing week 1. I'm still trying to lose the "baby fat" from 15 years ago! I've always run outside so can't comment on treadmill running. Whatever suits you though, go for it.

Well done for getting started.. I’ve only used the treadmill a few times and I’m an oldie(63)..so not sure if what I did helps. Anyway When I started I walked on average at 3.5 mph and jog at 4 mph . I find it easier outside as it’s easier to slow down if needed. As others will tell you it really isn’t important what speed or distance you do. The action of jogging uses different movement to running so no matter how slow you go as long as it’s a jog you are getting the practice...x

Well done on completing your first week! 😊 It’s a great feeling. Wk2 is a lovely set of runs.

I am an outdoor runner, so can’t help with the treadmill question, but I do recommend the stretches linked to C25K which are a must after each run. (See IannodaTruffe’s post for link). They work for me and have saved me from feeling achy afterwards.

Happy running 😊 🏃‍♀️

Yeyyy!! Well done! I’ve just got back from my first run/walk I’m not on a tread mill but we have a cycle path near us, I’m glad I’ve found someone who is at the beginning like me, we should feel proud of ourselves. I can’t believe I just did that lol

I’m on a treadmill but I’m metric. Walk at 6km/h, still varying the run part, from 7 to 9km/h. Next week I think it will be nearer the 7, than the 9!

Thank you all for your replies, I’m loving it so far and will certainly check out those stretches Delly-Dot, thanks. X

Well done!!!

I've just done run 1 week 1 today and it sounds like I'm similar to you. I shall look at your progress to help spur me on!
