I am Slighlty apprehensive for tomorrow, during w3 i felt I was ready to stop running for the last few seconds of the 3 minute run, i was just waiting for jo to say THATS IT! So the thought of 2 minutes added to that Is a bit daunting, BUT in saying that I also thought that jumping up from 90 seconds to 3 minutes, anyone else starting w4 tomorrow?
Tomorrow ..m w4r1: I am Slighlty apprehensive... - Couch to 5K
Tomorrow ..m w4r1
You can do it... slow and steady at the start... have a great run.
I started wk4 today. The first 5 minute run felt like it was so long but the second one flew by. Overall it wasn't too bad. I felt a greater sense of achievement today than on any other run.
I just completed my week 3 first run yesterday, totally killed me! Cardio wise anyway. I can ignore the pain in my legs. I'm 48 year old male with a good athletic muscle memory body from the past, however struggling cardio wise. The only thing that got me through the last 3 minute run yesterday was when she said you only have 60 seconds to go if she had of said "your halfway through" think I would of quit due to exhaustion.
Yes I'm the same, can get thru thr leg aches, but struggle with the breathing really. Has got better since I've slowed down. And the last 60 second reminder pushed me on too. I must admit I did feel it got slightly easier thru w3, so keep going! I have to keep saying to myself dont give up, when I'm feeling knackered.
I did W4R1 yesterday and felt exactly the same as you although it wasn't until I was on the treadmill that I saw the jump in running time. It was hard but think about the goals you have and you can push through to the end.
Hi I just did w4 r1 yesterday. I was the same, I was really worried about the 5 minutes. It was ok, the system works, I felt tired bit I managed it. Go for it, it will be fine.
I did w4 day 1 run today ... and it is possible. I too thought it was far too big a ramp up just looking at it on the screen, but as long as you take it slowly it really is possible. I amazed myself. Hope you manage to do it. Jo Wiley congratulated me at the end telling me I'm a runner as you have run 16 minutes and walked 15 mins (so more running than walking ). I love Jo Wiley by the way, try having her as your coach and then listen to your music or the radio as you run. As you are distracted you spend less time thinking about the running and counting down yourself. Good luck
This is a great tip about keeping yourself distracted. I get some good music on and it takes my mind off the numbers!
Well just got back from my run, wasnt easy, but I did it!! My calves actually caused me the most trouble today? But I ploughed thru! it is possible... you can do anything you put your mind to. Im so pleased with myself, I do have a tendency to give up at things, but I feel positive about this... long may it continue. Enjoying being a c25k'er 😜
Hi
I did wk4 for 1st time today. I was dreading it too. Found last bit hard and felt like stopping but didn’t and now know I can do it so I need more positivity towards it
Good luck. You will do it
Yes got through it, wasnt easy, but never really is. Were improving all the time tho... Good luck on your journey!
