W4r3 a difficult one

After my last run on Friday morning I was on cloud 9 but being led astray by my wife on Saturday and having a few too many (I'm easily led) I missed my scheduled run on Sunday morning.

It was up early this morning and I was dreading it. Was it the Monday morning feeling or the thought of this run? It was the latter. Even my first walk was less distance but I never got cramp following advice on this site (Thankyou) and the 3 min run was hard.

Boomtown Rats and Rat Trap got me through the 5 min run. The half way mark was less distance and I really thought I would nit make the last 5 minutes but just before the start another runner who I had not met before, must have seen the look on my face and said you can do it. This gave me a spurt and although it was tough and I made it.

I'm not certain about week 5 and I need to consider my speed to ensure I get through the 8 mins. We are also away on Wednesday night so the rests between runs may be difficult.

Good luck to you all

You can always slow down! This is about running for duration rather than speed or distance at this point. I run using the Japanese slow jogging technique (there’s a short film on youtube), it’s low impact and was so useful once the running durations increased. I still run this way and love it!

I have see this and try to jog slow but I naturally I "want to win" and try too hard. I think the longer runs will make me slow down

Hi, well done on completing the run! It can be abit frustrating when you have one good run and the next one feels like you have never run before, but the great thing is you completed it and I love your choice of music!

Maybe don't be hard onyourself if you have an extra rest day or find it difficult to keep to routine runs when you are away, just pack your trainers and see how it goes.

Remember how far you have come, and I agree with Disco Runner, slow down if you need to, every run builds up stamina. Oh and stay hydrated too.

Good luck and enjoy.

Well firstly well done for not throwing in the towel and actually doing your run! You are ahead of me by one run, I’ve just got back from Week 4 Run 2. I listen to Radio 2 when I’m doing the app and try and get focussed on what the DJ’s are saying to take my mind off the running! Saw a swan sat on her nest this morning in the river which was cool.
