Week 4 Run 4 (2nd Attempt)

Was a struggle to motivate myself for this one seeing as it was my 2nd attempt at the run. More psychological than physical but eventually common sense won the day and out for a run I went.

I did it but it wasn’t at all easy. I know where I went wrong though so can correct those mistakes for week 5. I didn’t drink enough yesterday or indeed before my run and I also did the first run at too high a pace; my lungs were not at all happy at the end of that stretch.

Going to give myself 2 full days of rest and re-hydration before starting week 5. I also have no idea how or when my weeks got knocked out of sync but here we are on the verge of starting week 5 on Wednesday!

Well done. My first breakthrough was learning that my brisk walk could be faster than my run! At w6 I saw the Japanese slow jogging film on youtube and that changed everything. Having a deliberately slow technique really helps to not start too fast. I love the slow running and still run this way. Take it nice and slow and you’ll get there!

Well done on coming back and going again. That takes persistence.

Congratulations on a successful run but also for learning something about what you need to run successfully. Good luck for week 5 - it's an amazing turning point in the programme that gives you tremendous confidence! :)
