W9R3 complete!

I started C25K in conjunction with the FAST800 diet 2 months ago with a general wish to get fitter and healthier, and suspected I may have been pre-diabetic. At 54 and 3 stone overweight I never thought I'd keep going but persevered and followed the program religiously. 2 months ago I couldnt run 30 secs without being out of breath, my blood pressure was high and blood sugars edging into the pre-diabetic range. Now I'm running 30 mins non stop and more to the point actually enjoying it. I think I've got the running bug!

I've lost nearly 3 stone, my blood pressure and blood sugars are now back to normal. What I wasn't expecting was the mental health benefits. I hadn't realised it but I'd become withdrawn, didn't want to go out or do anything. Now I feel full of life and much more confident!

I can't thank this program and all the motivational people on this forum enough. It really has transformed my life and I would urge anyone who's struggling to carry on no matter how long it takes to get there, it really is worth it!

I'm definitely going to carry on running 5k 3 times a week for the next few weeks and then take a look at the next challenge!

Congratulations 😃💪👍🏅👏✊

Yes, the benefits of learning to run are many fold 😃. As you keep steadily putting SLOW miles on your legs you’ll get stronger and stronger. It helps

Keep your weight down too as long as you continue to be mindful

Honour the rest days too of course and hopefully you’ll remain injury free

Have fun 😃👍

Congratulations on all counts. This post proves how successful c25k is at turning around your health. Yes, consolidation for at least 3 weeks now but join us on the b210k forum if you like to see what we are all up to.

As a 60 year old I’d been on hypertension tablets for at least 8 years and now have been taken off them.

Enjoy your celebrations

🏃‍♀️👏👏🎓🍾🥂
