A month on from graduation I have been struggling with really believing I can run for 30mins plus. I have been doing shorter runs several times a week as part of my #40k4lent challenge. I have therefore only been tackling a longer run once a week. A couple of times recently I have only managed a combination of walking and running on the longer runs.
But today was different, it was one of those days where everything felt right. I ended up running for over 40minutes and felt I could have run for longer. None of the normal aching legs or nagging gremlins playing mind games with me. I know my next run may be back to the mental battles, but having a run like today makes all the c25k and beyond struggles worthwhile.

Glad that you had no problems with the gremlins today on your run Knitruntalk, interesting regarding the #40K4lent challenge, would that be to run 1 km from Ash Wednesday to Easter Saturday excluding Sundays?, there are exactly 40 days in that period. I am glad that you enjoyed the C25K challenge and was worthwhile. 😊 🏃
Well done on the run today....good and not so good days think we all have them but still achieve so much by just getting out there. I’m 2 weeks past graduation and think I may reduce one run a week now and again as a change. Good luck for your next run
Some of us do find that in practice, in a well-rounded lifestyle, a run twice a week is what is most sustainable for us.
I think sometimes the best way to get rid of gremlins is to bore them rather than tackling them head on and getting in a fight which drains your energy. You kept on doing what you could do. Sometimes there will be an unknown physical reason we go through a sticky patch, which simply resolves. Bravo for letting it happen when you were ready!
