Week 9

So last night I started wk9 day3. I was so excited to nearly completing my journey. 15 minutes into the run. I stopped exhausted I even struggled to walk. Crying and disappointed I walked for 5 minutes then tried to run again. I managed probably a minute max. I feel such a failure. I did day 1 and 2 ok, don’t get me wrong it was hard but I completed them. But 15 minutes it’s shocking 😢

No f words please... runs like this happen for many, many reasons.... you could be tired... maybe have a bug ... :)

So... rest up... maybe some gentle stretching and when you feel ready...then head out for that run again. Relax... that is what the longer runs are for... land gently...kiss the ground with your feet. Start slow, and stay slow and steady.

While you run...think of how far you have come and remember all of us... are right there with you.

The badge and we ,will be ready when you are x

It was what it was Tasha83. Your body spoke to you and said ‘not today’.

At least you’ve still got the graduation to look forward to. 👍🏻

Well done getting to W9R3, you’ve gone from 0 to 30 minutes in a very short time. Sometimes runs are tougher than others... unless there’s a reason you can find for it, just chalk it up as a practice run. That run still made you fitter and stronger than you were at the start. A true failure wouldn’t get to week 9... anybody who fails this programme does so because they stop coming to the start lines.

Take a rest day, or two, make sure your hydration is good, think about how far you’ve come since that first 60 second run, relax, and come back to the start line ready to celebrate what you’ve done so far... keep the pace down especially in the first half of the run and just keep thinking how awesome you are to be doing this now.

Try not to beat yourself up Tasha83. You have already completed 2:3 runs W9 so you know you can do this. It happened to me last week on my second consolidation run and it was a shock mentally for me too as I had not been here before either. For me it was probably not being fully hydrated and a veg based meal the night before so not enough fuel in the engine. I only managed 5 minutes so I take off my hat to you for getting as far as 15. I went out again a couple of days later and completed my 30 minutes running and you will too. Felt all the sweeter too. Don't beat yourself up anymore. See you over the finishing line. xxx SPx
