Did my second Park Run on Saturday after months of building up to the 5k. Although I find it hard I have more energy than I've had for years. If you're thinking about it, give it a go. My times so far are slow, about 34mins, but it really is about the taking part and the buzz it gives you for the rest of the weekend.

If you want to improve your times at Parkrun start to pick out a Parkrun nemesis. That’s someone who also runs at Parkrun but is 20 seconds or so faster than you. When you run at Parkrun regularly you will start to recognize these people. Your aim for a new PB time is to use them as a pacer and then beat them to the finish line. Important to say hi and thank them in the finish funnel.

My Parkrun nemesis is a lady in her mid fifties who runs in a time just under 27 mins. I’m starting to get closer to her.

I’m going away for this weekend to do some Parkrun tourism with my family. It will be my 35th Parkrun and the first tick off the Compass Challenge.
