Running up Hill...

Hiya! I live at the very top of a steep hill. It means that when I leave the house for my run, the final leg of my run is a real challenge.

I’ve just started week 2 of C25K.

Are there any tips for up hill running please?

Thank you! ❤️

Short strides, head up, pump your arms.

Hi I’m the same as you. So what I’ve done is two days a week I get the car out and drive 1 mile down the road to the sea. There is a foot path there and I do 2 of the runs on the flat and then one day a week on the hill. I’m on week 3 next run Friday run 3 on the hill!

I have no tips apart from trying to focus on something in front of me in the distance such as a tree or bush. It is getting easier. Good luck

Oh that is fab! I was thinking a short drive might be less of a terror than the hill! 😅

Eventually I would like to do it the other way round only get the car out once a week! The start is the worst, then a bit further along another big one. I don’t like running downhill either, feel as tho I’m going to fall over, but we will get there and at least we are off the couch!
