First run as a graduate

Just completed my first run as a graduate! Terrible start, just wasn’t feeling it. But after first 5 mins it was fine. Ended up doing 6km (38mins). Definitely need willpower. Feels amazing finishing a run. I look like a tomato at the minute but shows my body is working hard! At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

Well done, great effort. But your post graduation runs should be about consolidating the 3x30 for a bit. You’ve had 9 weeks of constant progress, at this point, a few weeks of settled running is what’s needed, embed the habit and when the running is more comfortable (anything from 3 + weeks) then you can start stretching yourself - either pace or distance, but no more than a 10% increase in any given week. When we’ve completed c25k we’ve run a little over 8 hours, great, but not huge. Too far too fast and you’re at risk of injury and then no running until you’re mended!

I know but I had a fair way to go to get back to the car so thought I’d just carry on jogging for a wee bit as I felt ok. But I will just keep doing the 5k for the next few weeks.
