First post as a graduate :-)

Very pleased to have completed my first 5k on Tuesday, and my second today just to prove it wasn't a fluke lol

I completed both in around 37 minutes with my fastest split being 6.51 (I shan't disclose my slowest).

Pleased that I have managed to get through the programme without any stitches/pains etc. I have now signed up for Runkeeper and did my first run with it today, I'm finding the voice very harsh compared to Laura, maybe I'm just missing the gentle reassurance that I'm not going to keel over?

So now onward and upward, I'm a runner now, how scary is that! lol

Well done - exciting times. I've just done my post grad run too and can't decide what to aim for next. Considering 10k.

I'm aiming for a sub 30min 5k, and I have 3 st to shed so that is the goal at the minute. I think it's that choice of distance or speed after you graduate. I'm starting a training programme on Runkeeper on Sunday so we'll see how it goes.

Hi that's what I'm aiming for too, been trying for 6 months though haha, all the people I know who are runners say that interval sprints are the best way to improve your time, and not to settle in the 5K rut because your body gets used to it so doesn't burn as much fat, was advised by an army friend to mix it up with walks and sprints and hills but still do your 5 K for core strength, and rest days are really important good luck x

I'm actually thinking of nice places to run now, round local lakes etc. After the long dark winter nights a change of scenery will be lovely.

Congratulations and with a great time too😃😃 It will feel a bit scary without Laura but you could try the 5k+ podcasts.

Thank you, I think I had to head out again today just to prove to myself that I can really do it.

It's a funny thing when you realize you're a 'runner' at the end of the program. Hard to imagine that during Week 1 Run 1 eh? Congratulations!

Well done, your times are enviable, that's about my best time even after 6 months...the RK voice is a bit robotic, you could try contacting their customer service I've found them to be very helpful.
