This is really good!

I’m really enjoying this, which is odd because I’m not fussed about sport in general & usually get bored with exercise. Just finished W4 - I was quite scared of it but found it really not too bad.

One thing though, I’m running on concrete pavements at present, in a pair of (albeit new) trainers. It’s not bothering me but I think there are issues with running on concrete aren’t there? I know I should get some proper running shoes, which I will, but us there anything else I should be aware of?

When running on concrete my advice would be to make sure you are landing as softly as possible and make sure there is no thuding of your feet . Also yes a good pair of running shoes makes all the difference good luck 😊

Thanks, I quite slow anyway so I think I’m OK, might try & increase the pace. Bit after purchase of shoes!

Grass and hardcore are gentler on the joints than tarmac or paving, so spend some time on those if you can. All the best with it 😀

Embarrassing question but I’ve never actually known, hardcore is tarmac isn’t it?

Thanks though!😎

Hardcore is a sand/gravel/stone mix, often used to turn old railway lines into paths and as a foundation for tarmac, amongst other things. It’s tamped down firmly but because it isn’t actually glued together like tarmac, it has more give to it. Every day a school day, as they say 😂
