The second 8 minute run nearly killed me... I would have loved to punch Sarah when she told me I was only half way there... doesn't help that my return runs are slightly up hill.... when I got to the 60 second (to go) mark I was at witts end....so... I sped up! Just to punish the negativity... couldn't believe I could do that! Just goes to show mind over body!
Anyhow this doesn't bode well for the 20 min run in two days... but I am planning to get my husband to pick me up at the end of it so that I can do a slight downhill rather than down and then back up (very small incline (only 43m over 1.5km but still it hurts)... so on Saturday.... I'll go 'down hill' all the way.
Wish me luck fellow runners.

Good luck and try not to be scared of the hills, I found my self actively trying get to the up hill parts of my run during the rest periods. Eventually that became impossible and I ran very slowly up them. I thought I was going to have a heart attack the first time, now I have done it 5 or so times it’s so much easier! Keep going even if your pace really drops.
Mindset is key. It is tough running down a clock, so try to focus on other things.
I had the same issue on these runs - I was coasting along quite happily till I was told halfway, then I became like a newborn giraffe. It can be quite off putting. You got it done though.
Wish the sky was like that here! Just take the 29 minute nice and slowly... if you're tired and feeling like you want to give up, just go a little bit slower (don't try to punish yourself). You are ready for this - just don't think too much about how long it's been or how long you've got to go.
