Any pointers on how to prep for outdoor running?

Possibly run a treadmill run slightly faster than you normally do... as pacing isn’t automatic outside and so you can sometimes get just beyond comfortable.
Find a soft surface... maybe grass (though it saps energy a little) or a nice flattish trail (disused railway lines have often been made into nice even paths)
I’d probably want to choose a day with little if any wind and no rain, so you’re adapting to the running without weather being a factor too.
Be prepared to shorten the run, don’t be disappointed if you can’t run 30 straight away, a less smooth pace can take it out of you.
Use your surroundings to distract your brain a little... take in the birdsong, the smells and the greenery.
Have fun when you come outside... it may take a couple of runs to get the hang of it fully.
As you are used to the treadmill being set at a pace some times people go to fast outside it will get take a bit of getting used to, being outside is great I love it and never get bored good luck 😊
I think I would do alternate runs... treadmill/ outdoors.
Reduce your distance outdoors to start with. Choose a flattish route if you can for the first few weeks, add in some inclines over time, when you feel ready to do so.
Start slow then slow some more outdoors, until you can judge your pace better, the tm does it for you now so you will need to take this on yourself.
Enjoy !
What a lot of fun you have waiting for you. 😃 Go gently & relaxed, listen to your body - get ready to enjoy different surfaces, scenery, birdsong, weather - most important discover what you enjoy most. 😀
Welcome... some useful tips here..
