I recently got back from a fabulous few sunny days skiing. I was delighted to find that I could ski for longer without stopping for a breather, and decided this must be down to the improved fitness from my three-times weekly runs. I hadn't started C25K when I skied last year.
However, the two runs (not ski-runs!) I've done since have been quite difficult, and today I even slowed down for a walk for a bit, which I virtually never do. Most annoying. With the support from this group, I know I mustn't beat myself up for walking, as most people were still in bed while I was out there! But why, I wonder?
I need to gee myself up, as I'm thinking of doing the Toulouse park run next Saturday, if I can get my partner to accompany me as moral support. It's an hour and a half's drive from where I am in France, and I think I'll put another post up to see if there's anyone else on this forum who runs there, by chance.
One of the benefits of running in deepest rural France (or any country area of course) is the wildlife. As I was doing my cool-down walk I spotted from afar a couple of young deer standing stock still and staring at me, before suddenly bounding off. Makes it all worth while.
