I did it .... I did it ..... I did it!!!!!

So I went out yesterday and bought myself some new trainers!! And they worked! I am so proud of myself ... it seems so silly but that is a huge achievement for me πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

They look nice! I did the same at week 3 and got done great saucony running shoes. I started w1r1 wearing tennis shoes, flappy ankled jogging bottoms and a full on waterproof coat. By week 3 I had running shoes and a bright orange windproof running jacket. By Xmas I had thermal running leggings and top. Then the gloves came....πŸ˜‚

Congrats. I just finished w3r1 half an hour ago in the blue version of your new running shoes that I treated myself to after finishing w1r1 in walking boots!

You are right to be proud of yourself. Well done for this run. Those trainers and you go well today. I was chuffed this week to get some new running gear. I'm sure it helped with my runs😁

I have to object, Ellie. The title of this post should have been 'SHOE PORN' so we could have had bibs and hankies ready! Nice shoes, should keep you going for a few weeks! However, I have to nag you to get your gait tested. It's important to avoid injury.

Hi, where can you get your gait tested please? Thanks.

I don’t have anywhere near me to get gait tested .... I’m guessing one of the big sports shops like Nike of Adidas who will then offer Β£250 trainers that would be perfect!

See above reply re gait testing. Love the colour of your new trainers redellie. Change of name to pinkellie?

I recommend you go to a specialist running shop rather than an all sports or brand shop. Ask at a running club or parkrun where local runners go to get assessed. We have a local independent shop in Portsmouth which doesn’t charge for this service if you buy shoes from them. It is well worth doing to prevent injury as your running increases.

I echo Dexy, I went to a private running shop, came out with a pair for less than Β£100. Just Google 'gait testing' with your GPS on. That should give you a few options.

Well done, love your trainers!
