Still trying to find a way back into jogging after a break.

This is my 2nd session after an 8wk break. I decided to just jog and see how long I could last. 18mins was the answer, which isn’t great but that tells me to go back to week 7 and repeat the last 3 wks of the programme. At least I get to hear MJ.

I have just had about 10 weeks break so I have started back at the earlier weeks rather than trying to go as far as I can. I've just done a wk2 run, which was nice, and intend to try wk3 on Saturday. For me, I think a more gentle reintroduction is a good way to go. Take care.

I tried an interval walk / jog for 5km on my first session after the break but decided it was going to take ages to get back to jogging 5km that way so just jogged to see if I could get anywhere near (not a chance!) I think I’m fixated with doing 5km so even going back to wk7 is frustrating me ... but I get that a gradual return could be the answer. 👍🏻

If you have managed 18 minutes, then maybe you should crack W5R3, the twenty minute run, before attempting W7.

Just keep your pace nice and slow until you have built your stamina back up.

Yes, I’ll do that and then hop on to W7 ... I have bad memories of W6 and don’t want to go there again! Thanks.

What was the reason for your 8 week break?

Chest infection took me out for about 4wks then it took about another 4wks to get my head in gear. My head is my biggest demon, it prefers the couch to the 5km!
