Oh wow - it is a nature reserve you are running around? Looks lovely.

It is, before the council made it a Loch by building a dam at the east end of the Loch, this place was just very boggy ground with no paths or anything at all. When they were building the dam they found evidence of sea shells, the elevation is 100 above sea level now, so those sea shells must go back millions of years.

That’s cool. The plateau of Kinder Scout was a riverbed apparently, that’d be a while back, even my dad doesn’t remember 😂

Well it was MILLIONS of years ago UNM, perhaps your great a thousand times grandfather remembers those days, I wonder if anyone in those far off days ran a 5K🤔

Bet they all trotted it before breakfast to catch something for the pot!

If those cavemen back then trotted it before breakfast to hunt or catch something, the distance between caves might have been 5K, or perhaps 10K, there were great migrations back in those far off days following bison, etc, so even marathon distances or more were not unusual.

Maybe they were trotting over to invite the neighbours to brunch.... 😊

It is lovely Baddie, what the photo doesn't tell you is that particular part which goes a little way over the water was very icy this morning, I saw several runners and they had to slow down to slow walking pace at that time, within 30 minutes the sun melted all the ice and the runners could run as normal. 😊 🏃

Great pictures, AlMorr. I love flat runs, if only we had some round here. Not so keen on boardwalks though, especially in the icy & wet.

That part was very icy this morning when I took the photo, there were several runners who had to slow down to slow walking pace, however, within 30 minutes the sun melted all the ice and the runners didn't need to slow down, even in wet weather you have to slow down a little.
