Swans on the BCK 5K trail

Had a walk around part of the ButtercupKid 5K trail and took a photo of these swans

They were all pruning themselves, if you look closer you will see a lot of white bits, that is not litter, it's white stuff from the swans.

Yesterday when I ran a 7K they were in the exact same place, not pruning themselves like today, just resting, I had to keep clear of them as I was 🏃 running , not walking 🚶like I was today. 😊

Aw, they are gorgeous AlMorr ...there are sometimes swans down by the canal but last time they were there they were protecting their babies and spat at me! That’s ok though, is Mums all have a lioness inside of us when it comes to our babies...no matter what species we are! X

Yesterday I had to be very careful as I ran past, I gave them a wide berth, I didn't see any baby swans, not the season.

We have a local Buzzard mum, who dive bombs anyone in 4 fields.....

Swans have been known to attack anyone that threatens them, especially if they have babies around, I don't think that there are any very young swans around now, certainly I didn't see any, the swans in the photo did not attack or threaten anyone.

So many swans together! Thanks for sharing the photo al, it's lovely to see. I wonder if maybe there are some just getting their adult feathers through, and that's why they are preening so much.

Yes last years cygnets are doing the same in our park and are pure white now. Magic! 🦢🦢
