Wk4/2 😩. Wk4/3 😃

So Saturday run 2 of wk4 I couldn’t run the last 5 minutes, I really struggled. I gave up abouthalf way. Stayed out and ran the odd bit more - but I just wasn’t happening 😩. Today however 😃🏃‍♀️👊 oh yeyyyy. I wanted to do It and I did! So, the last 5 min run I was just getting into it and time up BUT I didn’t want to stop! I felt I had more in there. So ran through the 5 min walk, running for 10 mins solid (I’m sure this is frowned upon 😬). I couldn’t believe it - slow and steady - I was so pleased with myself after Saturdays disappointment. I took the 5 mins walk home and was buzzing 😃. It has boosted my confidence so although I’ve broken the rules I’m so happy!!

Frowned upon slightly of course... but you were an extra run in, that abbreviated one gave you more strength and fitness. Hope you still did a cooldown, it helps the body get back to normal. Great running... you bounced back in style. Enjoy the next one... stick to the plan though, we don’t want to increase the injury risk.

Thank you. I know 😔. I don’t mean to take it lightly, and totally know and understand why it is a progessive plan maybe I shouldn’t have shared my experience 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I know what is to come too and felt that it I didn’t push myself a bit more now when I felt like I was capable of it - I wouldn’t have a hope of even contemplating wk5!! Back to the plan!

Breaking rules may give you a buzz.

Breaking your body certainly won't.......

You might get away with it....you might not......you are an adult so can assess the risk yourself.

C25K is designed to keep injury risk minimal with a carefully progressive structure..........why take the risk?

If you want to read some posts from healthy young individuals who regretted ignoring the plan and going their own way, only to get injured, then I can supply some from my archive of horror.

10 out of 10 for enthusiasm, but please take care.

Thanks - I knew you’d give me a reality check! 😂 😏. I Honestly took it really steady - didn’t feel like I’d over done it - but I’ll get back to you tomorrow! 😂

I understand, I have been there, but most people do feel fine until something goes ping and then they can't run for days, weeks or even months.

Big takeaway lesson for Newbies: don’t let one ‘bad’ run discourage you. 😄 your body is building stamina and strength and The Plan is designed to work. Just get out the door. Well done, 123-wjt.
