Check out CONTRA clothing range from the founder of Parkrun.

Have you tried their stuff? I like the look of it and the ethos was just hoping for some feed back as the price point is higher than some.

Yes I bought a blue short sleeve CONTRA running T-Shirt. It was dispatched same day and the quality is very good. I bought it so as to support Parkrun. I have not worn it yet as waiting for days to get warmer. But it’s fit is accurate to the sizes on the website and it fits me really well.

I agree it’s more expensive, but not that much more and at least the workers are not in a sweat shop. All profits go back to Parkrun which is free to all.

Not cheap but very lovely. Be warned you may build quite a collection 🏃🏻‍♀️

Just chased down a woman in the shops to ask where her leggings were and it was Tikkiboo 🤣

At least I would say! I'm a UK 14-16 in standard clothes yet can I find anything decent to wear to run that doesn't hug every lump and bump??? Not easily! I got excited about Contra, especially their ethics and reinvestment into parkrun, but the range is limited to the same skin tight, short options. Personally i like a longer top to wear with leggings... they are DIFFICULT to find 😯😏 I've settled for largest sizes at sports direct for now... Where do you find gear?

I agree that the main brands think that all runners are young slim things and that is why Parkrun founder produced clothing for all shapes and sizes. The ethos of parkrun is that anyone can do it . Although I’m not a plus size, I would certainly wear those designs, but I had already bought mine when he brought his collection out.

I may be missing some designs of Contra then but I can't see anything for different shapes (just large sizes)...no longer tops to wear with leggings... think this would be really popular if they produced it! 😉

I’ve just got an under armour top off Amazon. It’s really long! I’m a size 12-14 but got L so it was loose. Perfect. It looks like they go up to XXL so I’m guessing that might suit. Plus on amazon I got quite a discount. The length however is amazing.

I have been using Aldi and Lidl for my cycling and now running clothes for years. Sizes are a little small but I just see what fits, usually the biggest bottoms and med tops.

They only have them in a couple of times each year so you have to keep an eye on the newsletters.👍

I have a base layer from Aldi’s I like but starting to think about short sleeve or tanks.

My local parkrun has many seasoned runners wearing contra gear, and they wouldn’t if they didn’t rate it highly... the fact it comes in real sizes is a bonus, and I haven’t seen any runner of any size not look good in them, so they certainly fit the body shapes better than some plus size gear I’ve seen.

I am smaller than a size 18 but am ‘blessed’ with 34HH boobs. Bravissimo do a good range going up to size 18 with extra boob space. I have long since stopped worrying about whether running clothing shows the lumps and bumps so long as the fit is ok, it doesn’t ride up and it works in terms of warmth and/or breathability!

Have a look at Lucy Locket Loves online or on Facebook. Her activewear leggings are great - no falling down and come in a range of sizes and fab patterns. Good luck x
