But you won't need such sizes for long. I down size about every three months!! Don't worry about gear- apart from running shoes, they are essential, Just get out and run, anything goes
Hope all goes well. Happy runnings
I feel your pain. I'm going for a run in a minute...and it's raining. I can't get a waterproof jacket in my size (20). I ordered the largest I could get in SD (18) and I can zip it up but it's too tight at the moment. I'll be interested to see if anyone can suggest a shop..
I've found sports wear to be really small anyway, I got a size 16 jacket from SD and would probably not be that size in any other type of clothing.
I love my luminouse running jacket xxxl from mountain warehouse its waterproof but running in wooly tights under leggings at the moment but I can't wait to have real running tights with reflective stripes!!! Funny not really thought...not put Any weight on over Christmas which is odd!
I daren't weigh myself ... my jeans are out of bounds as they cut me in half. Still, it took me a month to fatten up over December/Christmas/New Year, so I think I'll wear stretchy things for the next few weeks and not worry about it! Once I get back into my jeans comfortably, I'll know I'm back on track. Hey, weight is only a number isn't it??!! Can't wait to get out and run this morning after nearly a week off spent exclusively eating and drinking. Peeing down with rain now, but who cares!
There was a fab interview on woman's hour about the lack of decent plus-sized fitness gear recently. Would be worth googling because the woman they spoke to had created a line of good quality, wicking plus sized sports wear after finding that she couldn't get anything decent in her size, and she sounded brilliant.
Dunno if it's useful but I've started running exclusively in merino wool base layer tops (I'm not plus size, but I am an extremely sweaty person and have skin that chafes at the first hint of friction) and find them brill. Might be worth investigating as they're not exclusively considered to be 'sports wear' so might come in a bigger range of sizes.
I've just been to good old Marks and Sparks, they carry fitness clothing all the way up to 20 I think, may be worth a look! xx
I run in ordinary Sainsbury's cotton leggings and long sleeved t shirts which go up beyond 18.
I have also run in a long knitted skirt and walking boots on narrow woodland paths. And active sandals and cut off jeans.
