I completed my first 5k run in June 2017 with the help of a running coach but broke my leg in September so didn’t run again until the following March. I have been trying to follow the C25k plan ever since but can’t seem to get on top of it and haven’t managed to get past week 3, I just seem to give up and find a 101 reasons why I can’t fit that run in, bad weather, illness, whatever, I just don’t have the motivation to get out the door
What do you all do to motivate yourself and when do you find the best time to go out? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks x

He’s bossy - but he’s right 😂 It helped me that I had a bigger goal. We’re all diagnosed autistic in my family and one of my children has particular trouble with the idea of learning and gradual changes, so I wanted to get through this to model the idea of a healthy gradual change to him. That goal doesn’t go away and I’m now on consolidation runs. Find a big reason to do this, from “I want to look more toned in my swimsuit” to “I want to run marathons and raise £1 million for my favourite charity”, and you’ll find it easier to force yourself out there x
I can’t run in the mornings due to family responsibilities, the only time I have free is about 9pm which by then I’m just too tired but yes I do need to push myself, just easier said then done!
