Mind over mood

Just finished last run of week 8 - have to be honest - I wasn’t in the mood! However, I’m a stubborn old bugger and the programme said do it - so I did.

Enjoyed the second half and yes, I feel better for having done it.

Counting down to last run on Sunday!

By the way .... when folk measure distance covered do you include the 5 min warm up/cool down?

Hi - Firstly and most importantly, well done for getting out there when you weren't in the mood, secondly, only 3 more runs left - till Graduation - woo hoo, and thirdly, yes I include my warm up walk and cool down walk, for example yesterday I did 5.4k , (42mins in total), of which 28 mins I was running.

Well done for getting out! Stubbornness helps I find and also not thinking about it too much... I used to include the warm up and down but I've stopped now in week 8 just to see how far I'm actually running out of interest.

That is a good idea, i might try that for starting W9. Although i'll need to remember to take my glasses with me to see what i'm actually doing on my phone, lol. I usually set it all to start, and leave my glasses at home.

Ha, yes! sounds practical!

That is the correct way on timeing runs CP2, especially on the longer runs after run 2 of week 6, just time the runs, not the warm up walk before or the cool down walk after the run. 🏃 😊

I would have done about 10km otherwise ;-)

Right - ho ...... I shall do both for the 3 W9 runs ....... if I can make that Strava thingy say 5km it will be a kind of bonus!

I'm at 3.77km at the moment so hoping to get it to 4.2ish by graduation, that would be great.

You’re well ahead of me - I managed 3.4 k in my 28 mins today .... maybe the extra 2 mins will give me an extra km on the next three runs 🤣🤣

Thanks for the link TTR .... I feel quite happy now whatever distance I clock up!

I’m also wondering what (if anything) would happen if I changed from running on sand to running on pavement ? I’m telling myself that the ”give” in the sand is kinder to my body.... but I do think it maybe slows me down a tad too ....

Sand is harder to run on although probably better for the body.. (actually that 3.77km was in 30’... shhh)
