Anyone else been doing their C25K on a treadmill?? How do you find it? Have you tried running in the real world yet?

Many people do C25K on a treadmill, or what they call here a dreadmill 😂, I did C25K as you call it "the real world" 😊outside. Sorry, I have no experience on running on a treadmill. 🏃

I have done a few sessions on the treadmill. I would say being outdoors is harder, but more beneficial being outside for fresh air and well being. 😀

Did the whole programme on a treadmill (less impact for dodgy ankles and back) - haven't ventured outside yet, but I plan to before too long!

I’m on Week 8 and done almost all so far on a decent treadmill that we got off eBay . I like the ability to always have a consistent pace without stops for junctions, people etc Also, working from home but short on time makes it ideal to get the runs in whatever the weather or time of day. Also reassuringly anonymous when I’m huffing and puffing and battling to finish :-)

I'm doing it on a treadmill cause I dont think the works is ready to see me run! I did a 3km night run withough listening to the app in the real world and it killed me

I’m on W6 R3 and only been in the road once! I like to listen to music and found it difficult mapping a route (where I live) without having to cross roads. Also the night I went people were putting out their rubbish for the next morning & felt I had to continually look down to avoid dog mess! I do love it that the treadmill gives you the same pace (unless of course you change it!) I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I am. Hope you enjoy it too whether on the treadmill or on the road. The main thing is you give it a go!

Done whole programme on treadmill because of back and knee Issues. I find it good because it’s easier to register the speed and distance than doing it outside. As I regularly walk my dogs as well, I don’t feel I’m missing out on fresh air aspect either!

I did the couch to 5 last year on the grass in the really hot summer

I was plagued with painful knees throughout but managed to complete

Then did no running for almost 6 months due to change in circumstances

Went to use running machine after the long break to see what I could do

Right from day 1 could do 3km in 20 mins on the machine with no knee pain, have done about 8 runs since that one including 5k and not a trace of the knee pain

When I started the couch to 5 I died after 90 seconds so very surprised at being able to do this

Maybe the effects last a long time or machine is much easier- I’m banking on the effects!!!

I’ve been doing couch to 5k on a treadmill but ventured outside on Saturday with my other half (who regularly rubs outside) for week 8 run3.

Though I was going slowly but to my great surprise I managed not 28 minutes but 38 minutes and 3.2 miles (5k). Pace was about the same as the treadmill and despite training with the treadmill on flat I managed hills outside.

That's amazing!! Well done. I tried running with my mental Springer round the field yesterday and struggled to do 12.5 minutes! I did have a whiny 6 year old running with me too tho lol
